AWT is contracted with several, major auto insurance providers and auto auctions. We pride ourselves on providing safe and reliable roadside assistance as well as exceptional customer service. We are currently, seeking drivers to work ____ shift (mornings or nights) and ___ hours per day (I go with 10) So, today we are interviewing for the tow truck driver position. Tell me a little about yourself and your commercial driving experience.” (Afterwards, you can ask to follow up questions based off of his/her response) Note: during the interview it’s vital to listen to how the applicant communicates, their timelines/preparedness for the interview, their level of enthusiasm about the position, their knowledge of the transportation industry and other similar, factors. (Next, I go into my interview questions. Coaching Presentations
Training: • While in training, you will receive the hourly rate of $10, for 3 days (10-12 hr. shifts) • You are to meet the Trainer at the trucks’ parking facility to begin your shift/training. • Cell phone usage while on duty is prohibited (limited to breaks and posting periods) • You are to “post” within 5 miles of your drop-off location (in a large parking lot for adequate mobility and customer visibility) • If you desire to take a lunch break; it shall not exceed 30 minutes (notify dispatch at least 20 mins. ahead of time so that no loads will be accepted) (attempt to secure a service call for between 1-1.5hrs out, upon your return to on-duty status) • You must successfully, complete the stated hours in its entirety to qualify for employment/contracting with American Way Towing. • You must complete said hours to receive payment for training or the training/employment agreement will be null and void. You will not receive compensation for hours rendered as payment is contingent upon employment/contracting with American Way Towing. • You must view tutorials during training and be able to successfully demonstrate the skills therein • There will be 1 check withheld prior to your initial settlement/check being rendered. Time goes in on Wednesdays at 11pm. • There will be No cash advances provided by the Company • After completion of the 3-day training period; you will be asked to demonstrate what you have retained. FUEL RECEIPTS AND FUEL CARD Tow Truck Drivers must retain fuel , DEF purchases and truck fluids receipts for each shift. MANDATORY: These receipts must be submitted at the end of each shift to: Dante Johnson (773)326-8260 *TOW TRUCK DRIVERS MAY BE HELD FINANCIALLY LIABLE FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE PURCHASES IF RECEIPTS ARE NOT RECEIVED BY MR. JOHNSON. * Fuel Card must be kept in the arm rest of the tow truck and placed there after every fill-up. Fuel must be kept on at least Half a tank while on duty. Fuel and DEF must be completely, replenished after each shift Fuel card, Customer Service is available 24/7, 365 for issues with the card while at the pump. The Customer Service number is located on the back of the fuel card. Fuel card can be used at Quick Trip, Loves, TA truck stop, Petro and RaceTrack When possible; utilize the fuel pumps that are specific to commercial trucks. NO ”RIDE-ALONGS” PERMITTED There are to be no “ride-along” passengers while on shift. Ride-along passengers refers to anyone riding/being transported in the tow truck, other than the driver. Our insurance policy does Not cover such passengers. COVID PROTOCOLS • All Contractors and Employees must maintain at least 6” distance from all customers. • All Contractors and Employees must adhere to the face mask policies that are set forth by our customers and any establishment that mandates these protocols while you are on duty. • In addition, you must thoroughly disinfect the interior of the tow truck after each shift, with the cleaning products that are provided by American Way Towing • Passengers/Customers are Not permitted to ride in the tow truck with the Tow Truck Operator. They are required to find alternative measures of arriving to their destinations, while their vehicle is being towed.
